::Rooms: The rooms are fine, clean, with a wonderful box spring mattress and a lamp with remote control. Great if you sleep with the lights off and suddenly want to turn the lights on at night. Service Contact with Don (owner): Don always responded very quickly, was transparent in his communication and it immediately felt familiar. The food is delicious and fresh, the residents are friendly and helpful, no question/request is too much. Location: A beautiful and relaxing place. From the village you look out on the waterfall and opposite the village is Djoemoe (GP post and school), where the route to the Ananasberg is also located. This is definitely worth it, just make sure you bring water. The outward journey by boat took a little longer because the water was low (5 hours), but the return journey took 3 hours.

::I am a solo traveler and have been here for a week. The cooking is delicious, the huts are beautifully built with a view of the river. Mosquito net available. Hammocks. Clear starry sky and sound of nature every night. Lots of fun, relaxed atmosphere, the crew is helpful. Good price-quality ratio. The journey there can be long depending on the water level (I was during the driest time and the boat took +-6 hours). Take some extra drinking water with you as it can be scarce. Plenty to see in the area, it is beautiful. Mangoes are available for the taking across the street, you can fish, walk, swim, and above all enjoy the peace and nature.

::If we had known in advance that the Tappawatra waterfall was dry, we would not have made the trip. The journey there took almost 10 hours in total. The river was very low, so we had to get out of the boat about 5 times to continue. Upon arrival after a long journey we wanted a cold drink. Unfortunately there was no ice or cold drinks. Then the beer or soft drink doesn't taste so good in that heat. Food was well taken care of, but you never knew what time it would be. Some rooms did not have a mosquito net, you had to ask for it and hang it yourself. . There was no cleaning up after dinner. This caused you to suffer a lot from ants and other vermin. Only at lunch were the breakfast items washed and cleared away. On day 2 we took everything to the kitchen where it remained until the next meal. We definitely did things we would never otherwise do. We are richer in that experience. But I advise everyone to check the water level. We went for the waterfall and other water activities, unfortunately we couldn't see or do them. It is a four-day trip, but on day 1 you only arrive in the evening and on day 4 you leave at 5:30. Our boatswain was late, so Don could still make breakfast, otherwise you leave without breakfast. For us this was a bad trip and we would not recommend it to anyone else

::I'd recommend this place in the upper Suriname river for long stays and visit to the Saramakan villages and nature features around the area. The owner is one of a kind local guide that knows the river, the people, the landmarks and the intricacies of the culture; he will take care of you. Food can be arranged. Make sure you take drinking water with you. Accomodations are humble, each room has 2 or 3 beds, and a restroom with shower and toilet. It will take you about 4 hours to get here from Atjoni, and 3 hours coming back (up river is slower).
