::Tio Boto is really the best place to stay on the upper Suriname river and really gives you the feeling of being part of the interior of Suriname. The small scale of this resort gives you the opportunity to get along well with owner Thomas, boatman Lissie and their family. They really took such good care of us during our stay. The atmosphere was extremely relaxed, the versatile and varied food and all excursions were wonderfully organized. Together with Thomas we visited a number of local villages which gave us a very good insight into life along the river. The sulas were refreshing and our visit to the Ananasberg a wonderful adventure. And then you come up the mountain and back to the boat and there is a huge hot lunch waiting for us. Such a luxury! For us, staying with Tio Boto was the highlight of our trip. Tio Boto: the place to be!!

::Wonderful experience, very pleasant and customer friendly staff. Definitely recommended for a nice domestic experience. On time, friendly welcome, wonderfully varied dishes and drinks, fun outings (some at an additional cost that will be announced in advance), lots of culture and history, well-maintained resort, hygienic, pleasant places to sleep (we had the small houses with bath and toilet ) Apart from the scorching sun (wear long sleeves and pants; don't act tough!), enjoy the cold water and rapids of the Suriname river!😂
